_Feeds (also called "RSS" feeds: "Real Simple Syndication") provide constantly updated content, and
are a great way to keep track of a particular topic or organization.
No need to browse from site to site, or to subscribe to a site's newsletter and provide personal information (email, etc) which may then be sold to third-parties. Instead, simply susbscribe to the "feed" of your favorite sites by clicking on the distinct orange icon found in almost every website (e.g. search for "NY Times RSS" in
Google and click "add"). Any updated content is then pushed directly to your device where you can read it whenever you want. Free web-based "RSS/Feed Reader" such as Google Reader, Bloglines or Newsgator, or mobile apps such as MobileRSS (iPhone / iPad), allow you to search and organize numerous feeds, and sync them to any internet device (computer, tablet, smartphone). More advanced users can even create their own multifeed widget and embed it into their blog or website (just go to the free multifeed widget site NetVibes).
